Andrea
De Micheli, PhD
Andrea completed his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at Cornell University in 2020 where he worked in the muscle stem cell lab of Dr. Cosgrove. His doctoral research was centered around single-cell technologies and developing computational methods for the transcriptomic analysis of stem cells during muscle regeneration. His interest in clinical research led Andrea to join the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine (New York City) where he generated one of the first single-cell transcriptomic atlases of human muscle tissue. As a postdoctoral fellow at the Hospital For Special Surgery, Andrea brought his expertise in single-cell analysis to projects in tendon biology. Before joining the University Children’s Hospital, Andrea collaborated on a cancer research project investigating drug resistance in rhabdomyosarcoma and worked on a new mixed reality educational platform with other scientists of the Future Learning Initiative at ETH Zürich.
